West Calgary Ring Road IDR

AECOM retained GeoMetrix for Independent Design Review (IDR) on a total of twenty bridge structures that comprise the West Calgary Ring Road (WCRR) expansion. An independent design review was required by Alberta Transportation for these new bridge structures. The bridge structures consisted of single span skewed steel plate girder bridges, prestressed NU girder bridges, and post tensioned two span NU girder bridges. GeoMetrix IDR scope also included detailed design review for various retaining walls and MSE walls, pot bearings, and overhead sign structures.
