COWI as the prime consultant teamed up with GeoMetrix and won the rehabilitation of three bridges at the Crowchild Trail and Bow Trail Interchanges in Calgary. The bridges include: 1) Westbound Memorial Drive over Crowchild Trail, 2) Crowchild Trail southbound over Bow Trail, and 3) Westbound Bow Trail ramp to southbound Crowchild Trail over Bow Trail. The two span or multi-span prestressed concrete box girder bridges experienced serious deterioration on the deck, along the barriers, and at the girder ends under the expansion joints. The scope of rehabilitation includes deck partial depth and full depth repairs, girder repairs, joint replacement, bearing replacement, and barrier replacement. GeoMetrix provided construction inspection and contract administration services. Construction started in July 2019 and it is expected to be completed by end of October 2020.
