CN Projects – Steel Bridge Rehabilitation

GeoMetrix is frequently retained by the Canadian National Railway for rehabilitation of various steel bridges in Western Canada. Rehabilitation scope typically includes preparation of an erection diagram or general arrangement drawing, assembly details, and shop drawing details of the affected members. Typical rehabilitation work includes:

-Review of CN’s steel inspection reports and identification of items for rehabilitation.

-Jacking procedures and jacking strengthening design.

-Connection angle replacements.

-Shoe plate or bearing plate replacements.

-Secondary member replacements including: lateral bracing, cross bracing, horizontal and vertical gusset plates.

-Crack member replacement, retrofit or strengthening.

-Primary member strengthening by cover plate addition or new member addition.

-Retrofit traction bracing installations.
