Description:

GeoMetrix is frequently retained by multiple contractors, heavy haul companies and other businesses to complete evaluations of existing highway structures (bridges & culverts) to ensure that the transport load does not exceed the structure capacity.

For several of the bridge structures that GeoMetrix has evaluated strengthening measures were determined to be required to support the loads. GeoMetrix has evaluated several bridge structures where it determined strengthening measures were required to support the loads. In these scenarios GeoMetrix has been typically obtained as the design engineer in the strengthening of the bridge. Examples of projects that required additional strengthening include the 30th Ave Timber Trestle Over Blackmud Creek, and the Namepi Creek Bridge on Highway 29 at Radway.

When required GeoMetrix also completes inspections of the loads and visual confirmation that the limitations of the permitted crossing are followed as the load is transported across the bridge.
