GeoMetrix was retained by Browning Design Inc. to prepare a retaining wall design and drawing package for a landscape refresh at Hole #11 of the Black Hawk golf course near Devon, Alberta.
GeoMetrix considered a tied and non-tied back timber pile retaining wall option during the design. The final wall design utilized a steel H-pile embedded in a 0.600 m diameter drilled concrete pile to form a soldier pile wall complete with heavy timber lagging. A non-structural fascia and top cap was added by the architect to produce the desired final look. GeoMetrix performed a site survey, prepared the wall alignment, evaluated the wall height, prepared design drawings for wall options, and reviewed the wall construction including survey, measurement verification, and conformance to construction documents.
