We are looking for a Junior – Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our expanding team. As part of this role, you will be tasked with designing and evaluating structures such as bridges, buildings, retaining walls, culverts, and other civil engineering projects. You will be expected to use your knowledge of structural engineering principles, building codes, materials properties, and design methodologies to ensure the structural integrity and safety of structures. The ideal candidate should be able to perform the following duties and have the listed qualifications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required
  • Certification as an Engineer-in-Training or a Professional Engineer with APEGA or ability to obtain registration with APEGA.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Knowledge of structural engineering principles and building codes
  • Familiarity with structural analysis and design concepts and procedures
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (S-Frame suite or MIDAS Civil are preferred)
  • Familiarity with drafting software and the ability to navigate in AutoCAD
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Willingness and ability to travel for field work in and out of town
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Construction experience would be an asset

Duties:

  • Developing designs and ensuring their compliance with the building codes
  • Analyzing structural materials, such as steel, concrete, and timber
  • Drafting plans and design notes for structures for drafting by CAD staff
  • Inspecting existing structures, such as bridges, culverts and buildings, and recommending repairs or replacements
  • Supervising construction activities and enforcing quality standards
  • Creating and maintaining records of construction activities and quality control
  • Prepare construction specifications
  • Prepare technical reports and calculation packages

We are looking for a CAD Technologist to join our expanding team. As part of this role, you will be responsible for creating 2D and 3D computer models and detailed technical drawings of bridges, buildings, and other structures for a variety of projects. You will be expected to use your knowledge of drafting procedures and CAD software to create accurate and high-quality drawings. The ideal candidate should be able to perform the following duties and have the listed qualifications.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in a civil / structural discipline with certification by a recognized technical association such as ASET (C.E.T., R.E.T., or T.T.).
  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Autodesk software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit)
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret and produce detailed drawings
  • Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and standards
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to coordinate with team members
  • Willingness and ability to travel for field work in and out of town
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Duties:

  • Reviewing and interpreting record drawings and schematics
  • Using CAD software to design, draft, and construct models and drawings of structures
  • Translating engineering sketches and markups into properly documented drawings in electronic format (2D or 3D)
  • Coordinating with team members and design engineers to ensure drawings are accurate and meet specifications
  • Assisting the engineers in preparation of Issued for Tender, Issued for Construction, As-Built, etc. drawings packages.
  • Reviewing and assessing field quality assurance
  • Maintaining records of project progression and preparing reports
  • Following GeoMetrix and client specific CAD standards
